NIACIN DRUG TEST
NIACIN AND DRUG TESTS
Many job applicants believe a niacin drug test is the way to pass a drug test in urine. Niacin is vitamin B3 and is used in many chemical processes in the body. Niacin can be dissolved in water and removes poisonous substances that can be harmful from your system.
Hello my name is Yancey and I write these pages to help raise the awareness of my fellow employees about their basic employee rights.
Workplace drug and alcohol abuse is a serious problem for employers and employees. How to fix that problem continues to be a source of conflict and controversy.
A drug and alcohol test is used to determine if a job seeker or employee is using or abusing drugs. Urine testing for drug abuse is the most used method. When someone takes a drug by sticking a needle in his arm the drug gets into the bloodstream a lot faster. It is also absorbed quicker if the drug is smoked as well.
Because of this the drug or its metabolite shows up in urine almost immediately. A metabolite is the drug or chemical left behind after the original drug is ingested.
When cocaine is smoked or taken intravenously (by needle) it eliminates in urine as mostly benzoylecgonine, ecognine methyl and cocaine. Since benzoylecgonine is in higher concentrations and is detected longer it is what gets tested for.

NIACIN FOR DRUG TESTS
Niacin helps to cleanse the body of impurities and breaks down cholesterol and fat. Because of this there is a belief that it will remove THC from the body.
(THC) tetrahydrocannabinol, is a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant, also known as marijuana. A lot of job seekers and employees take large doses to pass a drug test with niacin.
They do this to drain their body before an employee drug test. Individuals seek to beat an employment drug screening test by consuming large amounts of niacin. Especially in a drug screening test for marijuana.
However, there is no evidence that using niacin to pass a drug test works. Taking large doses of niacin for drug tests can cause serious problems from overdosing. Studies show that trying to pass a drug test with niacin will not work. Research also shows that niacin will not effect the THC metabolites in your urine. Niacin taken in doses over 2 grams a day may put a job seeker or employee at risk of liver damage.
Higher doses of niacin will have serious side effects like:
- skin itch and flush
- skin rash
- hyperglycemia (high blood sugar)
- abdominal problems
- dry skin
These are a few of the problems that can result from niacin overdosing. The best way to clean your system of drugs that employers test for is to NOT CONSUME THEM! There are many products being sold that claim to provide a clean drug test by “masking” or hiding the drug in your body.
It is also a myth that drinking large amounts of water to flush your system of different substance. Nevertheless, the only sure way to eliminate a drug from your system is to wait for it to metabolize. The amount of time a drug can be detected in your body is its drug abuse detection time.
